Happy New Year!

2010 is over, but looking back......it was a really great year!!! I had the opportunity to continue to photograph some of my favorite little ones (and big ones) and lots of new wonderful people as well. :) So many precious little ones that I photographed from birth, graduated the baby plan this year. Talk about putting time in to perspective! I see so many of your babies grow and I realize that my own kiddos are that much bigger too. I'm so happy that I can help you to preserve milestones and make lasting memories for your families.

As much as I love photographing your little ones and making memories with you.....I will have to scale back on appts this year and put more focus on my little ones. We've had a bit of a shift in child care and I am going to have to restructure my time. These changes will help me to serve those with schedules that correspond with mine and to be able to spend much needed time with my own family. I am a mom to 3 beautiful children and they come first. :) This means that my latest session on weekdays will most likely be 2:00 or 2:30 so that I can get my son off of the bus. Once time changes in the spring and it stays brighter longer in the afternoon......I will be able to do location sessions in Gonzales starting at 4:30. Because of the shift in our child care and my husband working weekends, Saturday appts will be extremely limited. Possibly only 1 a month.

For the past several years, I've been operating solely and completely on my own. I handle everything, from the inital contact to me placing your order in your hands. In the last year, I have had a hard time keeping up! Contacts and replies, sessions, proofing, ordering, accounting, websites, facebook, blogs, design work, maitenance......phew......it can all be very overwhelming. I also have to raise little ones and find time for a little rest! While it's extremely exciting to be sought out by so many wonderful people for sessions, I had to realize that I am only ONE person and it is next to impossible to handle all requests. I hope that this year those that choose me to capture their memories will be looking to build a relationship and realize that we are a match with the same vision.

I initially started this business because I had a great love for photography (always have) and also to have a more flexible schedule to spend time with my children. I have been swayed and jaded from both of those reasons in the last couple of years, but I have faith that I will be able to get back on track. :)

When considering a photographer, I know that costs plays an important role in the process....BUT, some other important things to consider are: Style and vision......does your taste mesh with the artist? If you view my website (or any photographer's for that matter) and feel moved and long to have similar, but personable images, then you are most likely a great match! If you view my work (really thinking you might prefer a different style), but pricing is the driving factor ..........you may want to continue to look for someone more suitable for you. You should ask yourself if you want to have a friendly and trustworthy relationship with the photographer? The person that you choose from birth to photograph your baby can build a very important relationship with your family. Your photographer should make you feel warm and fuzzy inside. :) They should be engaging and loveable to your little ones!!!! All of this helps in creating fabulous images to cherish for a lifetime.

Still working......

So, my new blog is sort of on hold.......I'm hoping to work with a fabulous designer for some new branding. ;) So there's the hold up. I'm excited that it's even in the works though.

Okay, some things to think on:

LSU (and possibly Saints pics)......I'm thinking September 4th or 11th. Not sure which one just yet, but I hope to know real soon and then I'll send out the email. ;)

Fall/Halloween special........hopefully on October 9th.

Christmas special and any regular sessions that may result in Christmas card ordering MUST be done, proofed and ordered prior to Thanksgiving week. So......more than likely, the Christmas special will be done on November 12, 13 and 15th.

Regular sessions will only be available for weekdays in the month of November.

Hello out there......

I've totally been neglecting my blog haven't I? I have so many things to keep up with lately.....my blog is on the "back burner".
So, I'll try to catch everyone up. Welcome to 2010. :) Business is back to normal! I've been busy graduating many of my baby plan members from last year. Sniff Sniff....it's kind of like watching my own children turning one again. And with those that have turned one....a whole new babies have been born. :)
Aside from my wee little ones.........I've had the pleasure of photographing 3 beautiful SEN10R girls, including the one gracing the top of my blog. Wow....what a true beauty! I'll be posting more from these sessions later.
Now, I'll post a couple of a little sweetheart......

Proofing, Creating, Ordering and Taking more pics...

Ha...what can I say...it's a very busy time of year for me. :) If you are waiting on Christmas proofs.....hang tight. I should have them all up by tomorrow. Once I'm done with the Christmas special pics, then I'll move on to the regular sessions done last week. Keep in mind that just as the title says....I'm proofing pics, creating collages and Christmas cards, placing orders and all the while doing more sessions. I'm still a one woman show....so please have patience. :) Pretty please.

Updates

For those of your waiting on proofs or orders, I'm sorry for the delay. I was on vacation last weekend and then I had 2 sick little ones when I returned. Then, my great grandmother passed away Thursday morning. My family is grieving and burying her today was one of the hardest days of our lives.

For those of you scheduled for Christmas portraits on Monday.....they are still on. I'll be sending out an email to confirm appts tomorrow.

New Prices

The new prices are finally in place. If you have an upcoming session, you will be effected by the price change. Please review the new pricing for the session fees and basic prints. Contact me via email for package pricing changes.

Regular Studio Session Fees - $80/hr. (weekday) or $100/hr. (Saturday)
Location Session Fees - $90/hr. (weekday) or $110/hr. (Saturday)
*Fees cover up to four people per session. Add $10 to fees for each additional person. Fees are for the time and talent of the photographer only. Prints sold separately. Due to the custom work relative to the portraiture by Jacé B., there is a minimum purchase requirement of $200 per session. This fee is due up front as a deposit. There will be a travel fee of $25 for sessions outside of Ascension Parish. This fee covers time, gas and mileage. All fees are due at the start of the session. Full payment is required when placing orders. Cash, Check, Visa, and Mastercard accepted.

8 Wallets............ $20.00
8x8 or 8x10....... $30.00

Christmas Cards

I've started to post new card templates.......so for all of my clients who already know the access code to the template gallery..check them out. For those of you who have appts for the Christmas special or regular appts who want to order cards and don't know the code, please email me to get it. :)

Here are some samples of the fronts only. All designs have backs with them. You can change text, add text, add an image to the back as well. Cards have an option to be folded greeting cards with an inside spread as well.

Updates

I have a few spaces left for the Halloween/Fall session and then only a couple left for Christmas for Friday and Monday only.  All Saturday spaces have been filled.

Christmas card templates should be posted in the next day or two.  

I am no longer accepting new clients for the remainder of the year (unless booking for the specials).  I don't have any Saturday availability left for the remainder of the year.  I have only about 1 or 2 appts for regular clients left in November (weekdays and time specific).  I will only be accepting a few newborn appts in December, so if you are due at that time, please contact me to reserve a spot via email.  jace.babin@cox.net.

Halloween & Christmas Specials

I will be running my Halloween special this year on Friday October 16th, Saturday October 17th and maybe even a few spots on Monday October 19th.

Please email me now if you are interested in a spot for your little pumpkin(s). Halloween costumes or Fall attire will both work for the background.

My Christmas special will be on Friday November 13, Saturday November 14th, Monday November 16th and possibly Tuesday if necessary.

Scheduling Session & Updates

I just wanted to give everyone an update. I have very few weekday spots left at the end of August. Please contact me as soon as possible if you are interested, because these spots will go fast.

I'm now booking September and October.

It's officially the peak season!!!! Holiday's are right around the corner. I'm also starting to book Senior sessions for 2010.

I will be doing an LSU special on August 28th and 29th. Please email me if you are interested at jace.babin@cox.net to reserve your appt time.

I will also be doing a Halloween/Fall special sometime at the beginning of October. I'll have more information on that later.

Christmas specials and Christmas regular sessions will be taken care of in November. My deadline for all Christmas orders for regular prints and Christmas cards will be December 1st!!!!!! No exceptions.

I'm going to be perfectly honest in saying that Saturday appts will be very hard to come by for the remainder of the year due to specials, holidays, etc.

If you are expecting a newborn in the upcoming months, please email me now with your due dates so that we can reserve a spot for you. Once you are closer to your due date and have more information from your dr. regarding scheduling/induction then we can get a more definite plan together.
